Students share suggestions related to district development in “Coffee with DM” programStudents share views on Sports, Education, Youth Opportunities, Digital Skills and Administrative Reforms

Gaya, August 12, 2026 – The second session of the “Coffee with DM” program was organized. The District Magistrate interacted with students. Students shared their ideas and suggestions on various topics related to district development such as education, sports, youth development, digital skills, employment, and improving the administrative system. The program was held at the Collectorate, where students openly shared their suggestions.

1.Adarsh Mishra, resident of Fatehpur

He is a BBA LL.B student at Central University of South Bihar. He is active in Moot Court, Legal Research, Legal Aid Clinic and legal awareness activities and aspires to join the Civil Services to serve the public. He said that the quality of education and school dropouts are major challenges in the rural and economically weaker areas of Gaya district. He suggested strengthening basic infrastructure in schools, regular training of teachers, expansion of digital learning facilities, and starting career counseling and mentorship programs for students. He also emphasized increasing community participation through School Management Committees and running awareness campaigns about the importance of education. He said that quality education and reducing dropouts will create better employment and development opportunities for the youth of the district.

2.Tanvi Raj, resident of Chandauti Block

She is a first-year undergraduate student at Magadh University and has been associated with basketball for several years. She is a national-level basketball player. She has participated in various district and state-level competitions and won medals. She is also currently contributing as an assistant basketball coach, training young players. She stressed the need for better maintenance of sports facilities and existing playgrounds in Gaya district. She suggested developing new playgrounds and community sports centers, providing better training and resources to talented players from rural areas, especially girls, and establishing coordination between schools, colleges, and sports institutions to organize district-level sports competitions. This, she said, will increase youth participation in sports and help talented players from Gaya perform better at the state and national levels.

3.Shubham Anand, resident of Gaya Town

He is a PG student at IGNOU. He has been a regular blood donor since 2015 and has donated blood 42 times so far. He is also actively involved in tree plantation, helping road accident victims, COVID-19 relief work, and educating underprivileged children. Giving his suggestion, he said that to ensure the availability of blood in emergency situations, a coordinated network of district-level blood banks, hospitals, NGOs, and verified voluntary blood donors should be created. This will help in providing timely blood to those in need and also promote voluntary blood donation among youth.

4.Jigyasa Bharti, resident of Chandauti Block

She is a Class 12 student at St. John’s Public School. She scored 94.2% in Class 10 and 89% in Class 11 in PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology). Her career aspiration is to study History and Political Science and join the Indian Foreign Service (IFS). She said that lack of opportunities for youth in Gaya is a major problem and suggested setting up “Youth Exposure & Innovation Hubs“. She spoke about providing career guidance, scholarships, information about various competitions, skill development, mentorship, and modern digital resources for students. She also emphasized the need for Youth Innovation and Skill Clubs, community activities, and connecting students with solutions to local problems. Her suggestion was that such opportunities should be developed in Gaya so that youth do not have to migrate to other cities for better education and career prospects.

5.Naitik Prakash, resident of Nagar Block

He is a Class 12 student at Saraswati Vidya Niketan +2 School. He scored 84.46% in the Class 10 board exams. His goal is to become a doctor and serve society in the future. He suggested providing quality and skill-based education in 10+2 government schools, ensuring availability of qualified and trained teachers, and developing a student-friendly academic environment. He also stressed avoiding scheduling competitive exams during school hours and improving medical facilities in government hospitals.

The District Magistrate appreciated the constructive suggestions of the students and said that the thinking of youth and their active participation are important in giving a new direction to district development. The administration will take necessary action on practical and useful suggestions and will continue to involve youth in the development process. He appealed to other youth of the district to join this initiative and share their expectations and creative suggestions with the district administration. He said that such sessions will be organized regularly every Wednesday and Saturday. The district administration will work on implementing all the suggestions received today.At the end of the program, the youth appreciated the “Coffee with DM” initiative and expressed the desire to have it organized regularly.

After this, all the students who participated in the program were included in the Tiranga Yatra.
